Build your first research poster

This walkthrough takes you end to end — from creating a poster project to exporting a print-ready PDF. It should take about ten minutes, and you’ll touch most of the editor along the way.

Create a poster project

From your dashboard, open New SciZen (manual). In the dialog, choose Research Poster.

Pick a poster size. OryanApp ships the standard ISO sizes — A0 (841 × 1189 mm), A1 (594 × 841 mm), and A2 (420 × 594 mm). A0 is the most common conference size.

Give the project a name and click Create blank. The editor opens with an empty canvas at your chosen size.

Tip

In a hurry? Click Start from a template instead — you’ll get a finished poster layout with author blocks and figure frames already in place. See Customize a template for your lab.

Add your title and author block

The left panel’s Elements tab is where every object comes from. Under Text you have three presets:

Add title — large, bold display text for your poster headline.
Add body text — paragraph text for sections like Methods or Results.
Add caption — small text for figure captions and footnotes.

Add a title, then double-click it to type your poster headline. Add a body text box beneath it for your authors and affiliations. Drag either box to reposition it; drag a corner handle to resize.

Place your figures

Under Images, click Upload images and select your charts or photos. Supported formats are PNG, JPG, SVG, and WebP, up to 5 MB each.

Every image you upload is kept in Uploads. Open it any time to drop a figure onto the current slide again — handy when the same logo or chart appears in several places.

Add a caption text box under each figure and label it (“Figure 1”, etc.).

Add an equation

Under Equation (LaTeX), click Insert equation. A sample equation drops onto the canvas. Double-click it to edit the LaTeX source — for example, E = mc^2 — and it re-renders live as you type. For a full tour, see Write beautiful LaTeX equations.

Keep everything aligned

As you drag elements, OryanApp shows alignment guides and snaps edges and centers together. Toggle snapping with the magnet button in the toolbar, and show the grid with G. More in Master snapping and alignment.

Note

Your work saves automatically a couple of seconds after every change. The toolbar shows Saved when everything is stored — you never need to hit save.

Export a print-ready PDF

Click Export in the top-right of the toolbar and choose Export as PDF.

OryanApp renders your poster off-screen at its full native size and downloads a print-resolution PDF — no watermark.
